Submay: Abando

This stop. Abando Station, Bilbao.

Abando was opened in 1995 and is a major transfer hub on the Metro Bilbao. Like all the stations on the relatively new metro it was designed by Norman Foster. He sure gets around. As a result its clean, cool, cavernous look is replicated along the line.

Abando's shell-like glass curved entrance is also a feature shared by all the underground stations. The local Bilbaons refer to these as "Fosteritos". The chip versions should be coming out very soon.
