Submay: T-Centralen

Next stop. T-Centralen Station, Stockholm.

Is it a cave or a subway station? T-Centralen is a major transfer hub on the Stockholms Tunnelbana. It was originally opened in 1957 as part of the Red and Green Lines on the metro system. But what makes it really special is its Blue Line section which was added in 1975.

The Blue Line may just be the most unique looking subway line in the world. Many of its stations retain their original rock walls and feature massive murals painted on the cavern-like ceilings. T-Centralen is a stunning example, especially with it's striking shades of blue.

The Blue Line part of T-Centralen station was designed by Per Olof Ultvedt. I think I'll get him to redo my apartment.
