Submay: Chatelet

This stop. Chatelet Station, Paris.

This will be one of many visits to the Paris Metro. Chatelet was opened in 1900 a few weeks after the metro began. It is located in the center of medieval Paris. Back when it was opened it was a station on just one line (Line 1). Over the years it has grown to serve four other lines, the latest Line 14 platforms opened in 1998.

Chatelet, like many stations on the Paris metro and indeed metro systems around the world utilizes platform screen doors, which help prevent passengers from falling or jumping onto the tracks. These safely doors, as we shall see, come in different styles and sizes.
