Next stop. Parque Station, Lisbon.

Parque was part of the original network of eleven stations that began the Lisbon Metro in 1959. It underwent a major renovation in 1994. The artist Françoise Schein used 450,000 hand painted tiles to create an homage to the Portuguese discoveries of 14th and 15th centuries. The discoveries tailed off after that.

Art and color, as you will continue to see later, are big features of the Lisbon Metro.
