Submay: Staromestska

This stop. Staromestska Station, Prague.

Staromestska is part of Line A on the Prague Metro and was completed in 1978. Like all the stations on Line A it features distinctive aluminum tile cladding that gives it a very science fiction look, albeit with a 70's aesthetic.

Each station though has its own color and style of cladding. Staromestska, for instance, has concave aluminum tiles, whereas some other stations are designed with convex shaped tiles. So no one can accuse the designers of being totally redundant.
