Submay: Avtovo

This stop. Avtovo Station, Saint Petersburg.

It was opened in 1955 as part of the very first line on the Saint Petersburg Metro

Like in Moscow, many of the stations of Saint Petersburg are grand, spacious works of architecture with unique ornate designs. Avtovo is a stand out example. The platform alone has 30 white marble columns and 16 glass columns.

Avtovo was designed by that architect with the great Russian name, Ye. A Levinson.
