Submay: Westfriedhof

Next stop. Westfriedhof Station, Munich. 

It was opened in 1998 and is one of 98 stations on Munich's U-Bahn. Don't be alarmed by the UFO's hovering above. They're actually lamps measuring 3.8 meters in diameter. They were installed in 2001 by designer Ingo Maurer.

As you will continue to see later, unusual lighting and color are major features of Munich's subway stations.
