Submay: Zhongshan Park

This stop. Zhongshan Park Station, Shanghai.

Zhongshan Park officially opened in 1999 as part of Line 2 on the Shanghai Metro, the world's longest network. Today it is one the busiest stations on the metro and is a transfer hub for three major lines.

The row of plasma screens on the platform is a striking feature of many of Shanghai's stations. They carry paid advertising as well as real-time updates on train service. Of course it does make you wonder if the advertisers can pay extra to keep passengers waiting just a little longer.
