Submay: Bockenheimer Warte

This stop. Bockenheimer Warte Station, Frankfurt.

Bockenheimer Warte was opened in 1986 and is part of three different lines on the Frankfurt U-Bahn.

It probably wins the prize for world's weirdest station entrance, like a train has just burst through the sidewalk from below. The architect Zbiginiew Peter Pininski credits surrealist artist René Magritte for the inspiration. No truth to the rumor that he has just designed an airport terminal with a plane crashed through the ceiling.

The interior of Bockenheimer Warte is pretty striking too.
