Submay: Southwark

This stop. Southwark Station, London.

Southwark was opened in 1999 and is part of the extended Jubilee Line on the London Underground. It was NOT designed by Norman Foster, but rather another Brit, Richard MacCormac.

The most striking feature of the station is its 131 foot glass wall in the concourse. It consists of 630 specially cut triangular pieces of blue enamelled glass. Why 630? Because 631 would have been ostentatious.
