Cardeal Arcoverde was opened in 2002 and is part of Line 1 on the Metro Rio. It is located in Copacabana.

Cardeal Arcoverde is probably the most beautiful station on the Rio metro. Like some of the stations on the Stockholms Tunnelbana, it is a cave-like structure. The platform area was dynamited out of the base of São João Mountain.
